Compassionate Science
I am not sure whether or not I have what it takes to be a compassionate scientist like Mike Ebeling. With the several improvements that companies have contributed to technology, it is certainly possible to change someone else's life significantly, simply through the use of things such as computers or three dimensional printers. The only things that most people lack these days are two key factors, motivation and commitment. In today's society, the media has exposed many of us to war, crimes, and violence so excessively that most of us have become apathetic to the cruelty and sadness that surrounds us. That is why many people today have no drive to make a change, let alone commit to a cause whenever they witness something unfortunate. The sad truth is that people like Mike Ebeling, who actually use science and technology to help others in need, are rare. If we would only be willing to set aside our own interests to help satisfy the interests of others, we would have more compassionate scientists.

The Future!
I have many thoughts on how life will be like one hundred years from now. In the future, there will be a certain amount of the human population, mostly rich, who will be able to increase their lifespan by several years through genetic engineering. Most technologies will be able to be implanted to humans and will most likely monitor our behavior, whereabouts, and health status. It is likely that the population will have decreased significantly due to some outbreak such as ebola or a modification of mad cow disease. On Earth, there will probably be a shortage of resources. In fact, most human life may be found on an entirely different planet than our own. With the ISS or IXS (not sure) Enterprise under development, it is very likely that humans will have moved to a new planet, possibly one of the Kepler planets. Life on Earth may not be as great one hundred years from now and life on other planets may be highly advanced and under the organization of one government or organization.

One Time I Laughed Really, Really Hard
One of the times that I remember laughing really, really hard was during my summer vacation. I remember having a conversation with my older brother in his room when we both heard a loud thump come from my older sister's room next door. Thinking that someone might have gotten hurt, I rushed into the room, only to discover my older sister lying on the floor in an awkward position. Now it was not the fact that my older sister fell from her bunk bed that made me laugh really hard, it was the fact that after falling she laid on the floor for around two whole minutes after falling down. It was as if after falling she thought, " Screw it, I'll just lay here.", and that thought of that kept me laughing until I had trouble breathing. Needless to say, my sister was not hurt, she was just too lazy to get off of the floor.

My Review of Modern Times
In my opinion, Modern Times is actually a very entertaining work of cinema, despite it being a silent film. What I enjoyed the most about this film was its incorporation of comedy into a movie where the protagonist is constantly enduring hardship. This in itself allowed the audience of that time, as well as myself, to be able to relate to and enjoy the movie; although the audience of 1936 probably lived a harder life. I also greatly appreciated the fact that Charlie Chaplin performed his own stunts for the sake of entertainment. Another thing that I enjoyed was Charlie Chaplin's use of symbolism and metaphors throughout the movie to display the modern problems society faced during 1936. One of the things that I am somewhat unsatisfied with is that Charlie Chaplin made the movie a silent film when he very well could have had sound in the film. I am very interested in knowing what the little tramp or the gamin sounded like, but I suppose none of us will ever know. Overall, Modern Times was a fantastic movie.
My Thoughts on Bullying
Throughout the many years that I have been in school, I have witnessed a few incidents of bullying. Most of these incidents occurred during my years in middle school and I regret the fact that I sometimes did nothing to stop a victim from being bullied. I was fresh out of elementary school and I was not used to seeing people being bullied. The truth of the matter is that I was afraid to stand up to those who intimidated and bullied others because I did not want to get involved and become a victim myself. If I had the opportunity to go back and help those who I ignored I would because I am now not new to this type of thing and less intimidated by others. I do not want anyone to suffer from permanent emotional and mental scaring simply because I lacked the confidence and courage to speak my mind.
